Early projectors did not have keystone correction features. Projectors were usually found in fixed installations, so furniture and screens could typically be moved to accommodate. As projectors became lighter and more portable, the demand for an easier solution grew.
Today, there are two methods of keystone correction, manual and digital. Manual keystone correction is essentially a physical adjustment to the lens of the projector so that it projects at an angle higher or lower than it would be if it were on a flat surface. The manual adjustment works well in some situations, but cannot eliminate horizontal keystoning. The projector also needs to be far away from the screen to achieve results. Not good enough you say? Read on...
Projectors vary in the amount of keystone correction they can provide. For vertical (up and down) keystone correction, some offer a modest 12 degrees while others achieve as much as 35 degrees of correction. Some new projectors, such as the latest line-up of Hitachi projectors, also offer horizontal (side to side) keystone correction.
While keystone correction is a handy feature for road warriors and other portable projector users, it does not produce an ideal picture quality. Scaling inside the projector creates a slightly distorted image, particularly at the sides of the screen. In a long-term installation, lens shift is preferred to keystone correction.
This is a function available on data projectors which allows the selective stretching of the horizontal component of the projected image so that it appears to be rectangular when projected from an angle above or below the projection surface. More advanced (expensive) projectors can also keystone the vertical component of the image, and some recent projectors can automatically detect the projection surface and can automatically keystone the image to fit.Qlab (and other projection software) can also provide keystone correction and mapping of an image to a complex object.
Kodak Luma 450: This especially petite 1080p projector costs about the same as our top pick. It has Wi-Fi and Android 9.0 (but not Android TV) built in to stream content from apps such as Hulu and Netflix, as well as autofocus and keystone adjustments and a built-in battery rated for up to three hours of playback time. Unfortunately, its claimed light output is only 200 ANSI lumens, below the minimum we set for consideration in this guide, so we did not test it.
To make corrections such as these, first check the Grid checkbox for the display being corrected, to display an adjustment grid on the projector. Then, in the canvas of the Surface Editor, drag the yellow control points at the corners until the grid displayed by the projector appears aligned. Fine-tune these adjustments, if desired, by holding down the Shift key while dragging control points, or by adjusting the selected control point numerically using the Selected control point fields in the right column of the Surface Editor. When finished, uncheck the Grid checkbox to dismiss the grid.
There is no need for any installation on a PC and no need for any administrator rights. The software can be launched from a standard USB Memory Stick. This enables simple operation without any installation. As long as the PC and Projector are on the same network, the user can start his presentation and present on up to 4 projectors.
Capture One Pro 7 has a remarkable tool for correcting perspective errors. In addition to complete manual control, Capture One Pro 7 gives you a unique and convenient tool that you can use to rectify the keystone error of an image. Keystone corrections in Capture One simulate a true optical keystone correction, similar to what you can achieve with a technical camera. Once the tool is applied in Capture One Pro 7, perspective errors will be corrected perfectly.
However, for a faster and extremely accurate correction it makes sense to use the Keystone Cursor tools. These can be selected at the bottom of the Keystone Tool, or from the cursor toolbar. When using the Keystone Cursor Tools we not only correct the keystone but we also correct for any horizontal misalignments of the camera.
The keystone effect is often a curse faced by many people using screen projectors or when taking photographs from certain angles. The keystone effect or keystone projection can be corrected using various types of methods, using manual and digital correction option.
When an image is projected on an angled surface or non-perpendicularly, it can become distorted. This can result in the image looking like an architectural keystone. This is known as the keystone effect. The keystone effect can cause distorted images on a projector in a trapezoid shape and can also affect the angle of photographs if not corrected. Keystone effect also affects stereo imaging. Moreover, keystone correction is therefore needed in various field. This is also called Keystoning.
The keystone effect or keystone projection is often a problem for people using a projector. The problem occurs when a screen projector does not have the depth of focus to show the lines in focus. This problem can be resolved by moving the projector towards the center of the projected screen, tilting the projector slightly or by controlling the projector via software or remote. Early models of projectors did not come with the keystone correction option. These projectors were fixed at installations and the furniture and screen was moved to manage the projection.
Different projectors provide different levels of keystone correction. Projectors can provide anything from 12-35 degrees of keystone correction vertically. Some projectors might offer limited, 12 degree correction, whereas other can go as high as 35 degrees. Some new projectors even allow side to side keystoning for horizontal adjustment. Keystone correction can be performed both manually or digitally. You can also adjust the lens to adjust the image.
You can move the image vertically or horizontally to eliminate the trapezoid shape. This can help you correct the keystone effect without moving the projector. Whether the image requires horizontal or vertical correction will depend upon its shape.
The keystone effect can be quite a hassle for photographer and people using projectors. Correcting the keystone effect is therefore a major challenge across various fields. Sometimes presenters even leave the projector in a slightly distorted form because the keystone projection can appear challenging and time consuming. However, by following the few easy steps mentioned above, this problem can be resolved.

**** Now here's where you really need to pay attention:**** the app comes with Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon Prime pre-loaded. Out of the box, you won't find Hulu US, Disney or HBO in the app store. Look on your main menu to see if there's an Upgrade button. If there is, go through those steps which will update the software and unlock those apps in the app store for you. If there isn't (or this doesn't work) send an email to their support asking to unlock the apps and they'll send you the instructions and a password to do so within 24 hours (seriously, they're really responsive even on weekends). Apparently they are still testing the projector's compatibility with these apps which is why it doesn't come default, but the updating process is simple (10 min) and all apps have run smoothly for me. I probably use Hulu the most out of all.

Auto keystone and four corner correction provide flexible image adjustments for easy installation. Blu-ray 3D support brings the immersive 3D movie experience home when paired with optional DLP-Link 3D glasses.
This feature is only available on the Smart version. If you want to cast your content from your smartphones, the LUMOS Auro Projector supports casting via AirScreen and MiraCast. AirScreen supports AirPlay while MiraCast supports ChromeCast. Do note that the LUMOS Auro Projector uses third party software for casting and not the official AirPlay and ChromeCast support that other high-end projector may use.
Trapezoidal distortion caused by tilting the projector up or down can be corrected by adjustment in the range ±30°. Core (except XJ-V1/V2), Advanced, Slim and Pro models sense tilting of the projector and perform keystone correction automatically. 2b1af7f3a8
